2021 Jeep Compass vs Toyota RAV4

With SUVs being the most popular vehicle in America, it can be hard to know which make and model is best for you and your family. We here at Dick Scott Auto Group want to make your life a little easier, which is why we have taken two of the top SUVs in the 2021 Jeep Compass and the Toyota RAV4 and compared them so that you can make an informed decision. The Jeep Compass comes with a robust engine and four trims that deliver amazing features and options. Meanwhile, the Toyota RAV4 has some wonderful features in its own right. Both of these SUVs would make great additions to your driveway, but which one is the best? For the answer continue reading.

2021 Jeep Compass Power & Handling

All versions of the Jeep Compass come with a stark 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that makes a wonderful 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. Front-wheel-drive comes standard, but you do get the option of all-wheel-drive if you choose. If you decide to go with the Trailhawk, the Compass comes standard with all-wheel-drive. What transmission your Compass comes with depends on if you decide to go with front-wheel or all-wheel-drive. Going with front-wheel-drive means that the SUV will have a six-speed automatic, while all-wheel-drive nets a nine-speed automatic.

2021 Toyota RAV4 Power & Handling

The Toyota RAV4 also comes with one engine option and it's a four-cylinder that pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission, there is no other transmission option. Like the Compass, front-wheel-drive comes standard and there is an all-wheel-drive option. Higher trims of the RAV4, such as the TRD or the Adventure, come standard with all-wheel-drive. While there is a lot to love about the RAV4's engine, we wish there was another transmission option.

2021 Jeep Compass Features & Design

The Compass comes with four trim levels and each one has a ton of terrific features. Starting things off is the base Sport which comes with automatic dual-zone climate control, steel wheels, a 7-inch touchscreen with USB ports, a six-speaker sound system, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Latitude adds on to this with alloy wheels, roof rails, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, keyless entry and ignition, automatic headlights, and foglights. Are you into luxury? The Limited has you covered with a remote engine start, an 8.4-inch touchscreen, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. If you prefer premium off-road features, go with the Trailhawk! It has off-road-oriented tires, a raised suspension, underbody skid plates, and tow hooks.

2021 Toyota RAV4 Features & Design

While the Toyota RAV4 has two more trim levels, it comes with fewer advanced features. The LE is the base level trim and it comes with LED headlights, a 7-inch touchscreen, a six-speaker sound system, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Up next is the XLE which tacks on keyless entry and ignition, a power-adjustable driver's seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, and additional USB charging ports. A premium version of the XLE adds larger wheels, a slightly raised suspension, a sunroof, and a power liftgate. Like the Compass, the RAV4 has an off-roading trim known as the TRD Off-Road which comes with fender flairs, hill descent control, trailer roof rails, all-terrain tires, and an off-road-tuned suspension.

While there is a lot to love about both of these SUVs, we are going to give the victory to the 2021 Jeep Compass. The Compass has a better engine and more features that are sure to please drivers and passengers alike. Are you interested in taking the Compass for a spin?
